Have you ever found yourself saying that you will never do something again and then finding yourself doing the same thing over and over again? You are not the only person to do this and many people have repeatedly made the same mistake over and over again.
Making the same mistakes can cost you in many ways and can cause people that trusted you to lose hope in you. Maybe the mistakes cost you money or love.
You can learn from your mistakes and stop repeating them and learning to become wiser in the future.
Know You Messed Up
Sometimes people say that they messed up because of someone else. You have to learn to be responsible for your own mistakes and stop blaming other people.
Before blaming your mistakes on someone else, learn from them and be responsible for what your mistakes cost you. Even if this is hard, do it and admit you messed up.
Find It Out
Ask yourself about your mistakes and find out what when wrong. Figure out how you can do better and what you learned from your mistakes.
Make a list of things you learned and try to find answers as to why you went through this experience.
Plan
Do not beat yourself up for making a mistake, this will not help you. Instead, spend time thinking about how you can do better. Make a plan so you don’t make the mistake again and put detail into it.
Allow your plan to help you change and be accountable to others on your progress. Find a way to work towards change. Remember, not everyone has the same strategies.
Don’t Mess Up
Don’t depend on your feelings to stop you from messing up. Find a way to increase your success and do this by being more disciplines and creative. Prevent yourself from having access to things that cause you to mess up.
When you find yourself falling into the same trap, go a different direction and don’t let yourself mess up.
Make a List
Create a list for the reasons that you don’t want to make the same mistake. Make your list detailed and figure out how you can stay on track and be disciplined.
If you want to stop talking to someone that is toxic in your life, but you don’t know how, make a list of the reasons you shouldn’t talk to them anymore. Put the list close to your phone or wherever you answer their calls. Read the list each time you walk by it and this will help you to resist the temptation.
Learn to be disciplined and not to give in to what you are wanting. Make choices that are healthy for you.
Move On
Everyone makes mistakes. Learn how to grow from your mistakes and learn to make choices that lead to goodness and not failure. Pay attention to the mistakes you make and do not ever rate them as big or small, they are a mistake either way. Recognize that your mistakes can be a learning lesson and learn from them and move on.
