Ending a relationship is hard and when you are living without a relationship it can be hard if you are not used to being single. You can become a better person and begin to focus on yourself and this can change your life dramatically.
Being in a relationship probably took up a chunk of your time and then when things started to feel bad, chances are you become lonely. When the relationship ended, you were used to having him around and you were used to doing things together and being together for a large part of your day.
Fixing your broken heart can happen when you begin to learn to live your life without someone that has taken so much of your time.
Find things to do that you have fun doing. Enjoy doing things that you used to do before you got into a serious relationship. Find out a way to make your single life fun. Being single can be fun and it can even be more fun than being in a relationship, you just have to figure it out.
Do not run right out a new relationship after you break up but give yourself time to move on and to be happy. Getting over a broken heart does not happen right away and you have to learn to get over the relationship instead of just putting a bandage over it. It is not fair for you to find someone new when you are not healed from your ex.
Have a good outlook on life and learn to love who you are. These are two things that you have to learn to do if you want to begin to feel good and see the good in what your future holds. People will start to notice how happy you are and will love your new outlook on life.
A broken heart takes time to heal and you can start doing this by becoming a better person. Let go of your past and learn to build stronger relationships with your friends, family and even yourself and you will see the good in that. Be independent and realize you do not need a man to move forward.
Here are some things you can do to be the best you can be for you:
Pictures
Stop looking at pictures of you and your ex. Yes, you were happy for some time but there were also times that you were miserable. Do not look at pictures that are going to make you miss him but just think about the good times you had and move forward. When you look at pictures, it will make you want to get a hold of him and see what he is doing. Stop always putting his picture in front of you and try to move forward.
This does not mean you should delete the pictures but put the memories behind you and close this chapter. Move forward in your life.
Social Media
If you cannot scroll through social media without stalking your ex’s page, delete them. Doing this will only cause you pain and you will find that you cannot help but to check up on him.
You will find things you didn’t want to see or things that will hurt you such as him finding a new girlfriend or him flirting with people. Staying away from his social media can help you to move forward. You don’t have to block him, but you can delete him, so you don’t always have to read what he is doing.
No Contact
When you break up you need to go your separate way from your ex. Stop planning on spending time together and go through a point where you have no contact with him at all for a while. This means not to talk to him or contact him or meet him. Doing this for a couple of months will give you time to heal. The longer you stop talking to your ex the faster you will get used to being away from him.
Hobbies
The time that you have free now can help you to find out new things that you love to do. Get back into the old hobbies that you used to love to do and learn to find new hobbies that you have never tried.
Take some classes, join a gym or take an art class. You will see that you have time to have fun at things that you never took time to do before. Not only can you find a new hobby, you can also meet some new friends along the way.
Routine
Get a new routine in your life. Having a new routine can help you to move forward and not to do the same things that you did with your ex. Start a new diet or a new workout strategy. Change your meals and take a class. Take time to get your mind and your body in shape.
Once you start realizing you can make a plan and have a new routine, you will see that you are busy, and you are not sitting around thinking of your ex all day.
Being About You
Being single can be a great thing. Learn how to enjoy being alone. Read a book or go on a mini vacation. Think of this as being in love with yourself.
You have to love who you are before someone is going to fall in love with you. You need to be single and confident about it. Take time to think about what you want in your life and learn to connect with who you are.
Friends
When you were with your ex, chances are you had less time for your friends. Take time now to spend with your friends and family that you might have neglected. Hang out with them, go places and spend time laughing and having fun. Remember laughter is a healing thing and chances are you will begin to feel really close to your friends.
Your friends are there for you and can help you through anything that you are going through. They know you closer than anyone you have ever really known and when you can be closer to them you will find that you are happy and that you are stronger together. Bond with your friends and your family and you will see that they are always there for you no matter what.
Dating
Taking time for yourself is important but there will be a time when you want to start dating again. Once your heart has healed, you can learn to move forward to finding new love. If you want to date someone, do it.
The first step though, is loving yourself. Once you love yourself you can learn to make yourself a priority and put your relationships second.
Relationships work out much better when you focus more on yourself than on other people. There is a lot more to live for than being in a relationship and once you realize this, you can move forward and find happiness.
